l've been missing in action for the past week, enjoying the sights and wonderful weather down in Tasmania. Here is a sampling of what we enjoyed over the last week.
And while l was there, Quilts In The Barn had it's 1st birthday. So l visited my good friends,
Leonie and Deidre, at The Quilted Crow, you can see their wonderful shop here,
and picked up some of their weekender patterns, to have a birthday giveaway.
Its simple. All you have to do is leave a comment telling me which photo from above
is your favorite and why, and l will put your name into the draw.
l will be picking 4 winners, ( 1 pattern each) randomly, next Saturday 7th May.
Now don't forget, if you are a no-reply blogger, l can't email you to let you know you have
won, so please leave your email address, just in case. I will post anywhere in the world.

ReplyDeleteI like picture 8, the espaliered apple tree, I love fruit, like to add the odd pear or apple in my quilts. I would like to grow an espaliered fruit tree of my own
I love picture #6 In my dreams, I live there. Absolutely beautiful. Congratulations on your Anniversary! and thanks for a chance to win. gougeonathome@charter.net (Allison)
ReplyDeleteI really like picture #7 - I would love to see it in person. Happy Anniversary!
ReplyDeleteOh my gosh, Linda. All of the photos are beautiful. What a lovely time you must have had. I love the photo of the cottage with the wonderful stone fence. I've never seen anything like that in real life and cannot imagine the work that went into it- simple but rugged and beautiful.
ReplyDeleteHappy one year blogiversary!!
I love the stonework photos...there is just something so appealing about natural stone....it is stately and matches everything! Makes a nice backdrop for flowers and trees, and in vistas is so homey and comforting.

Picture #6, the cottage and the lane way looked quaint, charming and very inviting. Happy Blog Birthday.
ReplyDeleteI love pic #5 of the stone house....it's beautiful, surrounded by lush greenery, and I love the rugged hillside behind it!
ReplyDeleteThey all look like postcard pictures...but my favorite is the dutch windmill....beautiful.

All are beautiful photos but I think I like the large stone building because I'd like to explore the inside of it. It's what I don't see that intrigues me!
ReplyDeleteI like the photo of the tree with the fruit. I cannot quite make out what it is but would love a bite, nonetheless.
ReplyDeleteI love the windmill. We have them in our country too and it's always nice to see them work. See them in action. It's history and belongs to nature.
ReplyDeleteIt's got to be the Apples. Never seen them grown like that.
ReplyDeleteHAPPY BIRTHDAY !
ReplyDeleteI love photo number 6. I can imagine living in that wonderful cottage (if it had central heating & air conditioning!)Love the dormer window, the fence, the gate etc.....
What a great advertisement for Tasmania this post is. I love all the photos, but I like the aqueduct best because of the rhythm and shape of the arches. Congratulations on such a uniformly high standard blog - only one year? it feels like you have been part of my life for longer.
ReplyDeleteThey are all lovely photos but my favourite is the one of the old bridge in Richmond! I love old things like that.
ReplyDeleteHappy anniversary! My favorite photo is the espaliered apples as I am hoping to learn to do that some day. Looks like you had a lovely trip and I enjoyed looking at all of your photos!
ReplyDeleteHappy anniversary and thank you for the chance to win a lovely prize. My favorite is the tiny little cottage behind the dry stone wall. I wonder who lived there and how many children did they have, imagine if it was 10 or more. All of the photos are wonderful. Tassie really is a wonderful place.
ReplyDeleteHappy first! Love the windmill shot. Beautiful blue sky - fresh air.
ReplyDeleteHappy 1st birthday!!! Love the beautiful old house with what would be my rooftop studio if i owned it. i loved Tassie 10 years ago when i was there too! Debbie

Congratulations on reaching one year of blogging. You have shared many spectacular quilts with us.
ReplyDeleteMy favourite is the second photo, the coastline view. Reminds me of our trip to Lyme Regis in Cornwall last year following in the footsteps of Jane Austen.
BY all means the Windmill, but all the pictures are lovely. What a nice trip you had and congrats on the anniversary.

The beautiful red apples.......apples make me think of Tasmania. Well done on 12 months of blogging, it's fun to read.
ReplyDeleteLinda I love all of your photos but I think my favorite is the windmill. It is so simple and pristine. Love the fact that "way back when" people used natural resources for power. All, the simpler life. I think I have set my blog so you can reply but have been having some trouble so my e-mail is barb.whitehead@roadrunner.com
ReplyDeleteIt was difficult to choose a favorite photo. But I did! I really like the stone house surrounded by the rubble wall. I like the way all of the paths come together at the wooden gate. I also like the swath of greenery along the wall. Lovely!

I love the windmill, but I just want to walk around all of it. Thank you for sharing.
ReplyDeleteDee-jessibir@hickorytech.net
I love the windmill photo. We're all trying to be "green" these days, some things just never go out of style!

My favorite pics (if I have to pick one) would be 2 or 4.... Since I'm stuck in the middle of the US I love anything with that ocean. I could sit there and gaze at it all day long!
