Christmas sewing

In the crazy lead up to what is xmas, l had an unexpected opportunity to sew this weekend.
We had functions on Friday and Saturday evenings. And as my DH was
working on Saturday, an unheard of event in recent years, l decided that
there is no time like the present to get some xmas sewing done. So l took myself
into my sewing room on Saturday morning, and other than to eat and sleep, l didn't
come out till Monday afternoon. A very unexpected mini sewing retreat on my own.

First on the agenda was a skirt for our xmas tree. Our last one was nowhere to
be found, so a quick search on the net, and l found this pattern.
Just the quilting, and a little smart cutting, and this will be ready to go.
Go here to see some more examples.

l enjoyed making that one so much, l did some math with the pattern and made a mini one.
This will be a gift for a special person.

Here you can see the 2 together, which shows just how small the mini one is.

More red and white sewing to come in the next few days.

Thanks for visiting.

  1. I love your xmas tree pants! I wish I could have some free days for a mono retreat, maybe I'll have to make it happen straight after xmas.

  2. adorable, nothing better then red and white! Great Tree Skirt as well as little quilt, what a nice gift.
Yes I whipped up a red and white quilt yesterday will post about it this morning!

  3. Both are delightful. Thank you for the link to the pattern.

  4. Clean and crisp looking. Your tree will look quite smart dressed in it.

  5. Ohhh how fun! I'm so glad you had some time to sew and make these great pieces.

  6. I love your quilt. I'm wanting to whip up a quick Christmas skirt for our tree too and this is a great pattern. So far, I have some batting under the tree for snow :) but I'd really love a tree skirt and the red and white is just lovely.

  7. Love your tree skirts! I need to make a little one for my pencil tree (I said that LAST year too, and still don't have it done!).

  8. I am loving all the red and white that I am seeing this year, perfect in those tree skirts.

  9. Absolutely love it. One lucky Christmas tree. To be wrapped in that. Great pattern. Maybe one day ;)

  10. Very cute. Nothing better than red and white!

  11. More red and white! I love this as a tree skirt.

  12. Tree pants! What a fun idea!!! The little one is so sweet!
